Bright, citrusy, and not too sweet. This Cosmo uses fresh lime, cranberry, vodka, and orange liqueur for a chilled, restaurant-style cocktail at home.
If you think a Cosmopolitan is always syrupy, neon, and vaguely like a mall bar, I am here to lovingly correct that. A good Cosmo is bright, clean, and citrusy, with just enough cranberry to tint the drink and round out the edges.
This version is my go-to: classic-leaning proportions, fresh lime (non-negotiable), and a hard shake that turns it ice-cold and a little silky. It is on the drier, more spirit-forward side, in the best way. It is the kind of cocktail that makes you pause mid-sip like, okay wow, that is balanced.
