If you’ve got a Minecraft fan in your house, you already know the vibe. One minute you’re making dinner, the next you’re being asked if you can make something that looks like it came out of a pixelated universe. This Eye of Ender Punch is my favorite kind of themed recipe because it’s not fussy. It’s basically a super refreshing citrus punch that just happens to be that perfect Ender green, plus a tiny blueberry “eye” that bobs around like it’s plotting something.

It’s bright, fizzy, and sweet-tart, and you can make it in a big bowl for a party or by the glass when someone wants a special drink while they build a questionable dirt house at 10 PM.

Ingredients for a green punch arranged on a light kitchen counter: lemon lime soda, pineapple juice, lime juice, green sports drink, blueberries, and ice

Why It Works

  • Real flavor, not just color. Pineapple and lime keep it crisp, so the drink tastes as good as it looks.
  • The “eye” is low effort. A blueberry (with a quick nudge if needed) sells the whole theme.
  • Fast and flexible. Make it as a big-batch punch, or scale down to one glass in under 2 minutes.
  • Kid-friendly, party-ready. No special tools, no weird ingredients, and it photographs like a champ.

Yield: Makes about 6 1/2 cups (before ice). That’s 8 small servings or 6 regular servings, depending on glass size.

Pairs Well With

Storage Tips

Best plan: store the punch base and the bubbles separately. Carbonation is dramatic and short-lived, just like my patience when someone spills sticky punch on the floor.

Make-ahead tips

  • Juice the limes up to 24 hours ahead and refrigerate.
  • Mix the base (pineapple juice + sports drink + lime juice) and chill.
  • Add soda and ice right before guests arrive for maximum fizz.

To store (best method)

  • In a covered pitcher, refrigerate pineapple juice + green sports drink + lime juice for up to 3 days for best quality. (After that it’s usually still fine, but the flavor can dull and juices can separate.)
  • Add lemon-lime soda and ice right before serving.

If it’s already mixed

  • Cover and refrigerate up to 24 hours for best quality.
  • It’ll lose fizz. To revive, pour into glasses and top each with a splash of fresh soda.

Blueberries: add them fresh to each glass. If they sit too long, they can bleed a little color, which isn’t a crisis but it does change the look.

Common Questions

What is an Eye of Ender, anyway?

In Minecraft, an Eye of Ender is an item you throw to help track down a Stronghold, and it’s also used to activate End Portal frames. In punch form, it’s a bright green drink with a little “eye” floating in the middle. Delicious, and way less stressful than dealing with Endermen.

How do I get that Ender green color?

The easiest, most consistent way is a green sports drink (lemon-lime style) plus pineapple juice. You get a neon green without needing food coloring, and it still tastes clean and citrusy.

Can I use food coloring instead of sports drink?

Yep. Swap the sports drink for more pineapple juice or another light-colored juice, then add 1 to 3 drops of green food coloring at a time until it looks right.

What can I use for the “eye” if I don’t have blueberries?

  • Green grape (halved) with a tiny dot of dark icing
  • Blackberry piece for a bigger, bolder eye
  • Boba pearl if you want the eye to sink and surprise people

Can I make it less sweet?

Absolutely. Use diet lemon-lime soda or swap half the soda for plain sparkling water. Add extra lime to keep it punchy.

Can adults have a grown-up version?

Yep. For an 8-ounce serving, add 1 to 1 1/2 ounces vodka, or 3/4 ounce white rum plus a little extra lime for a mojito-ish vibe.

I love a themed recipe that doesn’t make me buy a drawer full of gadgets I’ll never use again. The first time I made this, I was trying to pull off a last-minute Minecraft snack table with whatever was already in the fridge. I poured the green stuff, dropped in a blueberry, and everyone immediately got it. That’s my favorite kind of kitchen win. Slightly chaotic, weirdly clever, and genuinely tasty.
