This vodka gimlet is tart, clean, and ridiculously easy. Fresh lime juice, simple syrup, and a quick shake for a chilled, balanced cocktail.
A gimlet is one of those drinks that feels fancy but behaves like a weeknight recipe. Three ingredients, one shaker, and a little taste-as-you-go energy. Historically, a gimlet is a gin drink built around lime cordial. This vodka gimlet is my fresh-juice, simple-syrup version, which means it is clean, crisp, and lets the lime do the talking.
You get bright citrus, a gentle sweetness, and that frosty finish that makes you sit up straighter after the first sip. The only real “rule” here is to use fresh lime juice. Bottled works in a pinch, but fresh is where the spark lives.
