Fresh lime, a touch of sweetness, and ice-cold vodka. This vodka gimlet is the kind of simple cocktail that tastes like you tried harder than you did.
If you have mint, a lime, and five minutes, you are dangerously close to a proper mojito. Not the neon-green sugar bomb. Not the sad one that tastes like carbonated toothpaste. A real one that is cold, bright, and so refreshing it makes you sit up straighter after the first sip.
This is my go-to mojito: fresh lime, gently muddled mint (we are not bruising it into bitterness), a little sweetness, white rum, then a quick top-off of club soda so it stays lively. It is relaxed, forgiving, and very “friend-you-actually-want-in-your-kitchen” energy.
