If you have ever looked at an End Crystal in Minecraft and thought, why does that look like a fancy little pink drink, same. This recipe is my real life, low-drama version of that vibe: bright, tart, lightly spicy from ginger beer, and super easy to tweak for whatever you have on hand.

It is a 5 minute build (no crafting table required) and it works as a mocktail for kids and game nights, or a quick cocktail for the adults who are also definitely “just going to have one.”

Why It Works

  • Bold color, big payoff: cranberry juice gives you that end crystal pink without food coloring.
  • Balanced flavor: tart lime keeps it bright, ginger beer adds a spicy lift so it is not just sweet.
  • Easy to scale: make one in a glass or a whole pitcher for a party.
  • Mocktail or cocktail: the base tastes complete on its own, and vodka slides in smoothly if you want it.

Pairs Well With

Storage Tips

This one is best fresh because carbonation is the whole personality. Still, you can prep smart:

  • Mix ahead (no bubbles): Combine cranberry juice and lime juice and refrigerate up to 3 days in a sealed jar.
  • Add ginger beer last: Pour in ginger beer right before serving so it stays fizzy.
  • Leftover finished drink: If it is already mixed and fizzy, refrigerate up to 24 hours. It will taste fine but go flatter.
  • Ice tip: Use big cubes so you do not water it down fast, or freeze cranberry juice into cubes for extra color.

Common Questions

Is the End Crystal drink alcoholic?

It can be either. The base recipe is a mocktail. Add vodka for a quick cocktail, or use rum if you want it a little warmer and sweeter.

What makes it pink?

Cranberry juice. If you want it brighter, use 100% cranberry (more tart, deeper color) or cranberry cocktail (sweeter, lighter pink). You can also add a splash of pomegranate juice for extra jewel tone.

Can I use sparkling water instead of ginger beer?

Yes. You will lose the ginger spice, so add 2 to 3 thin slices of fresh ginger or a tiny pinch of ground ginger and stir well. Or add a few dashes of aromatic bitters if you are making the cocktail version.

How do I make it less sweet?

Use unsweetened cranberry juice and a spicier ginger beer. You can also add an extra squeeze of lime or top with plain seltzer.

How do I make a pitcher for a party?

For 8 servings, stir together 4 cups cranberry juice and 1/2 cup lime juice. Refrigerate. Right before serving, add 4 to 6 cups ginger beer (to taste) and lots of ice.

I am a big fan of recipes that feel like a joke and then become a staple. This started as a “what if we made an End Crystal drink for game night” moment, and now it is in regular rotation because it is actually delicious. It is tart, fizzy, and just dramatic enough to make a Tuesday feel like an event, which is basically my favorite kind of cooking.
