A one-pan ground bison dinner with sweet potatoes, black beans, warm spices, and a tangy lime crema. Easy, hearty, and meal-prep friendly.
Chicken and sweet potato is one of those combos that just behaves. The sweet potato gets caramelized and a little crisp, the chicken stays juicy, and the whole thing tastes like it had a plan even if you were making it in socks at 7:12 p.m.
This is my go-to skillet hash version: smoky spices, crisp edges, and a quick lime-garlic drizzle that makes everything pop. It is weeknight-friendly, meal-prep friendly, and very forgiving if you get distracted and let the sweet potatoes go a touch longer (honestly, that is where the good parts live).
Quick note for success: Use a 12-inch skillet if you can. Crisping needs space. If your pan is smaller, do the chicken or sweet potatoes in batches and you will get the browned edges you came for.
